“We all hold one thing in common, the need to be understood and to belong.” Christina
I work with educators, parents, and youth to create a Community of Support in educational settings and specialized organizations. I also work with organizations to create a team of Peer Supporters that are trained to assist co-workers when they need mental health support.
Through Peer Support and an evidence based Flourishing Coaching model my goal is to provide safe spaces where people are heard, understood, connected, and supported. I offer Peer Support worker training, facilitation of seminars and workshops for professional and personal development, group as well as one on one coaching and am available as a conference/event speaker.
Not everyone is going to understand your journey and that is okay. Surround yourself with people who have shared lived experiences. Your journey is about permission, acceptance and choice to; accept where you are at and meet yourself there as a starting place to move forward, to accept your limitations while honoring your strengths (your gifts), to accept the fear you may be feeling but use it as a tool of strength and connection rather than a weapon to keep you stuck.
I am the parent of two special needs children and have navigated the systems of youth and adult services for both mental and physical health. I’m a certified Family Peer Support worker and a certified Flourishing Life, Wellness and Relationship Coach. I have also been an educator for the past 17 years.
